Explore Alaska’s First City!

Totem Bight State Park is within walking distance from our B&B on a paved bike path. You can enjoy some great photo opportunities along the way. At the park you can enter the clan house or totem carving center and view the ocean front setting of totems, including Ketchikan’s tallest totem. This park also offers a great beach walking area with a view of Guard Island Lighthouse. Be sure and visit the book store and gift shop. Right next door is a private potlatch park with a totem carver, gift shop, antique cars and Russian Museum.
Whipple Creek Recreation Area is just north of Alaska Home Fishing with opportunities for hiking and bike riding. Enjoy Whipple Creek Falls at the ocean’s edge where 100’s of salmon spawn each summer. Bring your camera for eagle and whale sightings!
Neighborhood Shopping is a short walk away at Lighthouse Grocery, featuring a convenience store with bakery goods & latte’ and the Lighthouse Liquor Store and Lighthouse Service Station. Image North Salon & Tanning is located here also and on the way back to the B&B Lodge you can stop off at the New Frontier Bar & Cafe.
Misty Fijords National Monument is accessible from Ketchikan by a flight-seeing float-plane or touring boat.
